There is a current investigation involving Red Bluff High School students and the use of social media applications to distribute inappropriate pictures and videos. These pictures are of a sexual nature and may be considered child pornography which could bring criminal charges. Currently, the Red Bluff Police Department (RBPD) is conducting the investigation. This type of social media activity is certainly not limited to our area, however, the impact it has on students, families, and the entire community is very destructive.

The district will be working with the RBPD, District Attorney's office, Tehama County Department of Education, and other local agencies to address this important topic. Before the end of the school year, the district will hold a town hall meeting to begin the education and awareness of criminal activity via social media. We are asking for your help by talking to your children about the inappropriate use of social media. This is a societal problem and will need the efforts of the entire community to bring to a successful resolution. We will be sure to notify the parents and community as to the time and date of the town hall meeting. Thank you for your support.
