ROOTER BUS FOR HOMECOMING Lassen transit will be taking a rooter bus up to the football games on Friday.  The bus will leave at 4:30 and will return home after the varsity game.  The first 45 students to fill out a permission slip from the student store and turn it back in will get to go.  Permissions slips are due no later than break on Friday.  BSouthwick

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Any girls interested in playing basketball this year were having an informational meeting Monday September 25th
 @ Lunch in Ms. Longs Classroom: Room 309. Will be discussing Open Gyms, Tryout, etc..
ACADEMIA DE PADRES/PARENT ACADEMY
Our Academia de padres/Parent Academy is starting up again and we would like your parents join us! Our next meeting will be on September 26, 2017 at 6pm in room 106. Daycare and dinner is provided. If you have any questions about what Academia de padres is, drop by room 106 or the counseling center! MJimenez
TECH CREW NEEDED
Want to work on the Tech crew for the play Rumors? Come to a meeting in room 313 on Thursday, 9/28 at lunch for info and paperwork.  
BLOOD DRIVE
If you are 16 and want to donate blood, come by room 103 to sign up.  The blood drive is Thursday September 28 in the library.  Every student MUST have a parent consent for signed to participate.  See Null for details and to sign up.
BOOK IN COMMON
Our Annual Book in Common this school year is "Temple Grandin: How the girl who loved cows embraced Autism and changed the world" by Sy Montgomery. We invite you to read this book this year as a way to engage with our school and community. Book copies are available to check out in the library.  We have exciting events in store to go along with the book - Temple Grandin herself will be coming to Tehama County in February! We will also be starting Facebook Live book discussions - let Mrs. Ackley (in the GRIT Center) know ASAP if you are interested in being a discussion host!
FROSH FIELD TRIP LAST CHANCE for Freshman to sign up for the Ignite STEM field tripscheduled for October 20th.  Permission slips must be turned in to the CTE Office no later than 9:00 am on Friday, September 29th. – Ms. Blackketter
ASVAB
10th - 12th grade students!  The ASVAB measures your strengths, weaknesses, as well as provides you with career information for various civilian and military occupations. It is an indicator for success in future endeavors whether you choose to go to college, vocational school, or a military career. The ASVAB will be held on Tuesday, October 17th.  Please sign up in the counseling center if you are interested in taking it! DAndrews
 FBI TEEN ACADEMY

The Teen/Youth Academy allows high school students an opportunity to get a comprehensive look into today’s FBI during a six-to-eight-hour block of instruction and demonstrations at the field office. Students are provided with several presentations on topics, including terrorism, cyber, public corruption, polygraph exams, evidence response, SWAT, and the day-to-day operations of a typical FBI office.  COLLEGE RESEARCH All students: have you started to do your college research?  Do you know much about the public university system in our wonderful state of California?  Do you know which college offers a degree in video game design? wine making? criminology?
Come to a lunch time workshop on Tuesday Sept. 26th to learn more about your options after high school.

SHASTA COLLEGE Shasta College is having a preview day for all seniors who are considering attending Shasta College next year.  You will get the chance to see the campus and attend informational sessions.  Lunch is provided.  Space is limited.  Registration for this trip will be on a first come, first serve basis so don't delay.  Great opportunity to see what Shasta College has to offer.  Pick up a permission slip in the Counseling Center today!!
SCHOLARSHIP
Seniors, if you would like to be considered for a good citizen scholarship and you have good citizenship qualities of:
  • Dependability
  • Service
  • Leadership
  • Patriotism in your home, school, and community
Please sign up in the Counseling Center.  One student will be selected to represent RBHS.  This student will be asked to write a timed essay which will be submitted to the Daughters of the American Revolution for their review.  Deadline to nominate yourself, Thursday, September 28th.  KAlloway

ANIME CLUB Anime Club's first meeting will be Thursday 9/21 at lunch in Rm. 210?  SSmith
COMMUNITY SERVICE Do you like art and children?  There is a great opportunity for you to combine both through an ASSETs Art Mentoring program.  Participating students will earn community service hours for their participation.  Students will work in teams of 2-3 to research, design and create an art project and then present it to the SERRF students.  Come learn more about this opportunity on Wednesday, September 27th from 1:30-3:30 in the Library.  Please stop by the CTE Office to sign up so we know how many students are interested. – Ms. Blackketter

A.S.L. CLUB ASL (American Sign Language) Club: First meeting of the year Friday, September 29 @ lunch in room 210!  It is the end of Deaf Awareness Month.  Let's learn about the Deaf Community!  Grab your lunch then come learn some signs and meet new people!
