Vision for English Learner Success

All English Learners in Red Bluff Joint Union High School District receive rigorous, equitable, and engaging instruction in a supportive culture of learning with high expectations. The cultural and linguistic assets of English Learners are valued, maintained, and protected to promote bilingualism, bi-literacy, and bi-culturalism.  In partnership with the families and community members, all English Learner graduates in Red Bluff Joint Union High School District will be college and career-ready with post-secondary options that prepare them to be productive, global-minded citizens.

English Language Development Mission

The mission of the English Language Development Program at Red Bluff Joint Union High School District is to provide quality instructional support, guidance, and ensure their academic success.  This entails the implementation of proven, research-based instructional strategies to meet the academic needs of the English Learners which is based on individually assessed needs.  In addition to academic instruction, the Red Bluff Joint Union High School District ELD Program is dedicated to the continuing engagement and involvement of parents of English Learners.  Parental engagement is a key factor in the partnering success of our students.  This support includes the establishment of functioning DELAC and the creation of a welcoming environment for English Learners and their families.
